over 3 years ago – Mon, Sep 14, 2020 at 11:06:37 AM

Hello, friends!

Over the past weeks since the project has been live, we have been asked many times about our online store and DriveThruRPG. Our online store is currently being redone, so we wanted you all to have access to more Pacesetter products... if you'd like!

We are doing 40% all of our products on DriveThruRPG! Many titles that appear on DriveThru have been out-of-print for awhile now, so this is a good chance to pick them up! We have a plethora 5e, B/X, S&W, and 1e products available. This sale will last all month, so go give it a browse and see if you like anything!

You can get to our DriveThru page by clicking here, clicking the image below, or copy and pasting the link below!

We are nearly at the next stretch goal, so keep spreading the word! Also, we just hit 800 backers! Woo! We appreciate you all more than words can express! Thank you all, and see you soon :)

The Finfolk are here!
over 3 years ago – Mon, Sep 14, 2020 at 11:06:29 AM

Hello, friends!

We have unlocked yet another stretch goal! The finfolk will now be published within the book!

The finfolk are a race of humanoid fish-like people that are natives to Starland Bay area in southern Farrador. Their communities are very welcoming and wise people that take in anyone in need. Originally, they were coastal settlers; however, some hungered for what the rest of the world had to offer, so they set out to explore what other settlements had to offer. Since then, they have been good neighbors and allies to those residing within Farrador.

The finfolk are natural hunters and/or healers. Since their settlements started out in seclusion from conventional society, they have had to rely on themselves for survival. They are dexterous and wise, which many account to be the reason of their survival. Being naturally amphibious creatures, they excel in water type scenarios as well.

Another Goal Down!!
over 3 years ago – Mon, Sep 14, 2020 at 07:10:19 AM

Well that was faster than I expected!

The Bijou Dwarf has now been unlocked!

This new race of dwarves are close cousins those that reside within mountains. Once a sturdy, formidable people have now turned to the more elegant side of life. They found a wealth of gems and other minerals in their mines, and now they prefer to focus on the finer side of life.

The Bijou (bee-zho) are native Dun Bhuldar within Farrador. This makes them an amazing and seamless subrace to bring your adventure to life! They are naturally charismatic and openly welcome the presence of magic within their settlements. They are constantly looking to grow their wealth; however, they still do take care of others as they are constant donors to the less fortunate living within Lakeshire or other villages living in squalor. However, there are few that believe they should join higher societies of humans and elves in other lands.

We also have the artwork on for the two new subclasses: the Elemental Ranger and the Path of the Ruinseeker Barbarian!

That is all for now! Thank you all for everything, and welcome to the new folks who have joined us recently :)

Alternate Ending Unlocked!!
over 3 years ago – Thu, Aug 27, 2020 at 10:49:03 PM

Just like that our last stretch goal has been taken down! I am still blown away by how many people are backing! I thought the last couple stretch goals would be reached maybe at the end of the project. Here we are still in the first half with all of them down!

So what is this stretch goal? I will write in an alternate ending for this story! Since the ending will be relatively similar in each playthrough, I would like to add in another for those who are going to play the module more than once. This will also help keep the sandbox nature of the adventure rather than have the ending be on the railroad tracks (an inevitable feature of many RPG books). This ending will be woven into the fabric of the adventure as to keep the sense of the unknown alive!

We are working on more stretch goals. I plan to release a couple more; however, I do not want to stray too far away from my original vision for this book and project. Also, often stretch goals are a cause of projects running late, so I want to avoid that at all costs as well.

I will update again when I have more for you! Thank you all so much for this support. It has truly meant a lot to me!

All the best,

Ben Barsh

Saturday Night Stretch Goal Smackdown!!
over 3 years ago – Sat, Aug 22, 2020 at 05:34:56 PM

Just like that we take down another stretch goal! Another new class/subclass will be printed in the book! This new subclass allows barbarians to harness the wild and untapped magic that lies within!

For 5th edition, this is quite simple. You will be able to choose Path of the Ruinseeker as your primal path at third level. This subclass will allow you to access the sorcerer spell list, cast spells while raging, and relentlessly cast allowing yourself to exchange physical exhausting for more spell damage (the latter two being unlocked at higher levels).

For B/X and Swords & Wizardry, we will be introducing the barbarian class as an option of play. Along with that, you will be able to choose to be the Path of the Ruinseeker. This will function similar in each edition allowing your barbarian to be opened to their primal magical nature.

The Path of the Ruinseeker Barbarian is woven into the unique lore of Farrador Keep, a college of sorts for those wishing to become adventurers. This subclass does not specifically given any sort of advantage over other during solo play, but it does give a unique twist that allows you to personalize your barbarian more than ever.

Thank you all for the support! This project is taking off far more than we expected. We appreciate you so much!!

All the best,

Ben Barsh
