New Map, Progress Report, and Side Quests!
almost 5 years ago – Tue, May 04, 2021 at 01:59:15 AM

Hey, friends!

I first want to mention I filmed another video with all the information in this update and more! If you would like to listen to/watch that video, you can find the link down below! Let me know if you enjoy the video updates! I think they will stick around long past this project!

I have some news! Dmitry Yakhovsky, our lead artist, did his own rendition of the region map of Farrador! After consideration, we have decided to use this in production! You can see it right below this text! He did an absolutely amazing job with it. This will be the map distributed with every book as well as printed in the books.

Next up is a progress report! We are still approximating 4-6 weeks on the PDFs. We are really concentrating on getting the layout right. There is nothing worse that making a mistake on a pick-a-path type solo book. Connecting the dots is of the highest importance!

Lastly, I made a YouTube video covering the side quests and how companions will function in the game! There are 6 total side quests and many, many companions to add to your party. In the video you can find a synopsis on each main story arc, the side encounters, and the companions (along with the amazing art done by Dmitry)! Click the link or image below to be taken there!

That is all for now! I will update again when I have more to share!

New Kickstarter & Project Update!
almost 5 years ago – Mon, Apr 19, 2021 at 11:36:51 PM

Hello, friends!

I just wanted to drop in and say we have a new project up and rolling!

This one is a dungeon generator for 5e and B/X! There are countless tables to whip up a packed dungeon in just minutes! There is a section for each level of characters 1-8, so you can tailor the dungeon to fit your party!

Follow the link below to check it out! At the time of this update, WE ARE FUNDED! It funded as I was typing! How fun?

For Into the Unknown, we are still moving ahead! Our goal is still the end of May for the physical copies! The team and I are still optimistic about this! Everyone is working very hard on this. We all are so appreciative of the support and love for this project and Pacesetter.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything!

See you all soon!

All the best,

Rule Updates and Progress Report!
about 5 years ago – Fri, Mar 26, 2021 at 12:46:11 AM

Hey, friends!

Like the last update, I have made a full YouTube video discussing what has been going on here at Pacesetter, so if you would rather listen/watch, the link is down below (or click that giant image)! In the video, I also discuss the project timeline in a bit more detail! That information is located within the video!

Today I wanted to share with you a unique set of rules I am implementing into the book. The book will feature Hard Mode and Story Mode.

Hard Mode is where you adventure true solo. No hirelings, henchmen, or followers! This is for those wanting the true solo challenge.

Story Mode is for those who would prefer to simply enjoy the story with some dice rolling and challenge along the way. At specific points in the book, you will be able to add followers to your party! This will make the encounters a little less deadly if you just intend on enjoying the book slowly. It will also help out those wizards/magic-users/casters have a meat shield or two!

This simply adds some more options for you as you explore Farrador and the story arc of Into the Unknown!

That is all for now! Thank you all so much!

Progress Report and Video Update!
about 5 years ago – Tue, Mar 09, 2021 at 02:37:20 PM

Hello, friends!

I hope everyone is doing well! As we head towards the month of May, I wanted to give an update. I recorded a short YouTube video update for those who want to view that! I also included some insight as to how I wrote some of the book (hint: it includes a magical whiteboard)! If not, I'll provide the "long story short" in text here! If you would like to see the video, there is a link below, or you can click any of the images!

Apologies for the lack of update. I actually just moved from Michigan back to Orlando, FL! This took a lot of my time, but I am back into the swing of work and school now!

Production is going well! We are sending out the last (or second to last) round of art, more maps are being finalized, and the editor will have the manuscript in a week or so.

If you were a backer of Path of the Vanished, you will know that we did have a hiccup with production due to COVID-19. For the privacy of the people involved, that is all I can say. We are doing everything in our power to make sure that those delays don't extend into this project. However, I can say that we are indeed on target to at least have the digital files out in May as promised. Just to overcommunicate, I wanted to let you know we did have those issues, and while they are resolved, we are dealing with the ripple effects.

Aside from that, this book is looking gorgeous and coming together well! If you have any questions, please let us know in the comments or message inbox! Have a wonderful day!

Beta Test v2 is Here!
about 5 years ago – Wed, Jan 13, 2021 at 10:58:51 PM

Hey, friends!

It is finally here! Beta Test v2!

This one will take you through the first bit of adventuring you do when you run Into the Unknown. This playtest is to acquaint you with the general feel of solo adventures. If there is interest after playing this one, I would be honored to release another section of the campaign! Since this one is on the shorter side, I will likely release a v3 anyway :)

For this playtest, please send all comments to [email protected]. This will help me organize all the feedback so I may make any changes necessary.

Just below this text you will find the link to download the PDFs. You may also click the image to be taken to the download. I have both playtests organized for you in a Google Drive. Our new website is nearly done, so I will also upload them there once I iron out some last details with Shopify.

Best of luck in your adventures! Keep those rolls and spirits high, and I'll see you next time!
